DIY Wedding Crafts

There are so many DIYs on Pinterest that it could take a lifetime to do them all. I have set out to do some for my wedding to make it a little more meaningful, fun and less expensive. One of the first crafts I did was twine inspired, and I do love me some twine. The website to learn how to do the flowers is: here I loved the results of my hard work, and I will warn that this is very time consuming and a little tedious but so worth it. I don't know how many flowers I will end up with, but either way these would be cute stacked up in a mason jar around the house!

Wedding Champagne

Let's first disclose that I am NOT a pink girl. My whole room has never been pink nor will it ever be. However I do like some pink stuff. Ok with that said, I saw pink champagne on Pinterest and LOVED the idea. It is so much prettier and more exciting that regular champagne, which in my opinion tastes like crap. If I have to drink something I don't love, let's make it pretty.
I found a similar champagne at specks for only 11$ a bottle and thought my idea was complete! Although I don't have pictures, this is a post after my wedding I can always edit to show the final product.

Ah the wedding season

Pinterest is dangerous for wedding ideas, no doubt about it. I think it is especially for those girls who aren't even actually getting married. I say this not to offend, but it puts unrealistic expectations! We are paying for our own wedding ourselves and let me tell you that getting married is most likely the most expensive thing I will do in the next 5 years. Pinterest has beautiful ideas but not always affordable and do-able. For girls living in a fantasy land that Daddy or Husband is going to drop 50,000 for the day of your dreams you are in for a HUGE surprise. My goal is more along the lines of having the perfect day because I am marrying my best friend and everyone important to me is there to celebrate. I did find some beautiful photography ideas, centerpiece ideas, and just little details I would not have thought of otherwise! My wedding posts will by likely continuous since I am getting married in November, but I am going to share some goodies that were Pinterest inspired.

No stay at home wife here~!

My next project is something I haven't completed, but rather an ongoing venture. I study for about 6-8 hours a day for the CPA and start my hectic job as a public accountant on Monday, so I definitely don't get consider myself a stay at home wife. That does not however stop the feelings of angst when things here at home aren't in order. It seems very overwhelming to leave all the cleaning to the weekends, because that is our relax time. So I saw a pinterest that I loved because it puts a schedule to cleaning that is do-able for two working adults that want some free time as well.
This inspired me, and I have a list of my own now! I think this is a great place to start for anyone wanting to have a schedule for a clean house and some down time. I think for stay at home Moms it would even be helpful. Dont try to tackle everything all in one day! The link for more information is: This lovely link Enjoy! xxoxo

Smells like home, feels like home

Although I am not posting my projects in the order I have done them, because I got this brilliant idea after I had taken my pinterest obsession to reality, I will try to give an accurate time line. Within the next couple of months my postings should be very current. A project I actually did today right before starting a 2.5 hour study session was one that has given me hope that pinterest posts are possibly the best thing that has happened to me (excluding college, fiance, family, bikinis..well maybe excluding a lot). One pin I saw today and loved the idea of was that in which the pinner recommended putting lemon, rosemary and vanilla together to create a wonderful home scent. The pin looks like this: I decided this sounded wonderful, and within minutes of putting those ingedients together and bringing them to a boil my house was smelling amazing. Although I took pictures after the lemons soaked up some vanilla my result looks like this: The result was amazing and I really recommend it to anyone! To find out exactly how to do it follow the link below: http://www.oureverydaydinners.com/2012/03/rosemary-lemon-vanilla-home-scent.html I did see online that during the different seasons people were adding different ingredients such as cinnamon, oranges, pineapples, clovers and the list goes on! It is really a simple project that brings a lot of joy.

Introduction to my Pinterest Obsessed Life

Like most girls, I am a Pinterest addict. A Pinterest addict is defined as a person that takes every given moment to check for any new pins that they believe might be life changing. I started my pinterest pinning some personal pictures, such as a travel picture, or even my workout progress. Soon after I discovered this world of pins from websites from all over the internet. I had just gotten engaged when I discovered this new world and found the wedding pins very helpful. The addiction just never stopped after that and I wondered that what was the point of pinning all these things unless I had any intention of actually doing them? Recently I made the decision to take those pinterest ideas and make something productive out of it. I would either use the pin as an inspiration, or create something from it. This blog is to record my experiences with those pins, and decide if my pinterest fantasy world can become a reality.
